Trump State Department Designated China as engaged in genocide in late January 2021

the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has committed crimes against humanity against the predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and other members of ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang. These crimes are ongoing and include: the arbitrary imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty of more than one million civilians, forced sterilization, torture of a large number of those arbitrarily detained, forced labor

Biden Secretary of State agrees with the genocide declaration.

Asked whether he agreed with outgoing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s assessment on Tuesday that China was committing genocide against minority Muslims, Blinken replied: “That would be my judgment as well.” “I think we’re very much in agreement,” he said. “The forcing of men, women and children into concentration camps; trying to, in effect, re-educate them to be adherents to the ideology of the Chinese Communist Party, all of that speaks to an effort to commit genocide.”

On Tuesday Biden said the following regarding China’s crimes against humanity.

Joe Biden is "not going to speak out against what Xi Ping is doing with the Uyghurs" which he himself agrees is Genocide, because different leaders have different cultural norms.

This statement is a 180 degree about-face to what Biden’s campaign was saying before the election.
“The unspeakable oppression that Uighurs and other ethnic minorities have suffered at the hands of China’s authoritarian government is genocide and Joe Biden stands against it in the strongest terms. If the Trump administration does indeed choose to call this out for what it is, as Joe Biden already did, the pressing question is what will Donald Trump do to take action. He must also apologize for condoning this horrifying treatment of Uighurs.”
